Oklahoma Prosperity Project

It’s About Jobs -- And Your Company’s Bottom-Line Oklahoma Prosperity Project - Newcastle

Leaders we elect this year will make decisions impacting Oklahoma companies' ability to compete and grow. This affects all of us -- our jobs, our economy and our families's future.

In June, Oklahoma's Prosperity Project will survey the candidates for governor and other statewide races, Congress and State Legislature. We'll ask them about economic issues that will grow our state, so you can go to the polls informed.

For more information on how our employees can make more informed decisions at the polls on the election issues affecting Oklahoma companies, jobs, and economic development, please contact Oklahoma Prosperity Project at 405.664.0261 or email.

The Prosperity Project is a free, nonpartisan election education program.  It does not endorse candidates. It does not tell you how to vote. That important decision is up to you.

As a result of our connection with the Prosperity Project, we assisted with 184 new registered voters for the Presidential Election in 2008. GREAT tool for employers and residents to become better informed about state and federal issues that affect businesses today and tomorrow!

REID Scores

The Research Institute for Economic Development (RIED), a private sector, non-profit educational organization dedicated to the development and enhancement of a pro-business state legislature, has identified the most and least supportive Oklahoma legislators in each Legislative session.

At the end of each Legislative session, the Institute evaluates legislators based on floor votes, absences and committee work and creates a profile of each Legislator's individual voting record on issues that affect business, industry, jobs and economic growth. The Institute then awards scores based upon each Legislator's votes and positions on bills important to the private sector. A score of 70 percent or above out of a possible 100 is considered pro-business and pro-jobs.
