The Newcastle Chamber would like to warn all our members and community businesses that again it is that time of year where outside entities come to down and make calls regarding advertising for “special projects”. We would like to let you know that a majority of these calls are NOT being represented correctly. There are projects that are stating that they are with the schools or even using the chamber name (example: “Elite Designs” - Sports calendars or a community guide which is actually a magnet and is NOT being endorsed by the Chamber). Please note that it is VERY likely that this is NOT associated to the schools and none of the monies are being contributed to the schools or being distributed by the Chamber. Please also be aware that some of these companies will fax information which will have a “disclaimer” on the fax that states “if they do not hear back from you then that is a commitment for advertising”. Please take an extra moment, take down their information and contact the Chamber to confirm whether or not you should contribute your hard earned and limited advertising dollars on these projects.
