What is P.R.I.D.E.?
A friendly smile and good first impression of an employee can go a long way, but it takes more than that for a business to be successful.
This idea is greatly expanded upon through the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service’s (OCES) PRIDE program. By Producing Resourceful, Informed, Devoted Employees, local businesses can ensure their frontline employees understand your commitment to quality customer service.
In any business, the people who deal directly with the customers can make or break the business. Through our PRIDE program, the OCES has been helping businesses and communities teach quality customer service to frontline employees in Oklahoma for more than 15 years.
The PRIDE program is a customer service program featuring many valuable points that can transform your community into the best of all places to work, live and play. PRIDE instructors teach quality customer service techniques to school teachers, bank tellers, hair stylists, convenience store workers, elected government officials, chambers of commerce, just to name a few.
The program is designed to train employees in customer service, as well as train them about activities, entertainment and events in the Tri City area for visitors and local citizens to enjoy. One of the lessons that PRIDE instructors like to stress is the importance of frontline workers to the economic development of the community. Convenience store and restaurant employees are on the frontlines of the battle for economic growth.
Quality customer service is about more than just saying “please” and “thank you.” It is also about being competent,
knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Word of your respectful and enjoyable employees can and will spread quickly.
When a customer has a bad experience at your business, they will tell at least nine or 10 people, while others will tell as many as 20 other people. Now, with social networking websites in the picture, they may tell 347 people about it all at once. Avoid these ugly numbers by teaching your employees the importance of good customer service. |

Who Should Attend?
Every one employee, whether they are on the front line or greeting those back-door guests will benefit from the training! This program helps to identify everyone you do business with, either by phone or face to face. Bet you’ll be surprised who you identify as your guests or customers.
This program is not limited to employees of our local businesses, it is open to future employees. If you are currently in transition between employers or are a student soon to enter the workforce, this program will provide you a leg up on the competition and an excellent resume addition. |
Is there a Cost?
The cost to participate is based on chamber membership. If you are a member in good standing of the Blanchard, Newcastle or Tuttle Chambers, your cost is $5 per employee. If you are not a member of the any of these chambers, your cost is $10 per employee. Costs cover the class and completion package (take home materials, lapel pin and certificate). |
