How to obtain a Liquor License

Here are some steps a business will need to complete before liquor can be served in a restaurant or liquor store.

Step 1
Apply with ABLE Commission
Step 1

Complete the application

(click here to select choice if employee is getting licensed)
(click here to select choice if license is for business)

Step 2

Pay the required fee to the ABLE Commission
 (fee amount depends on type of license you are trying to obtain)

Step 3 Processing of application through ABLE may take 30-60 days

 

Step 2
Obtain tax permit from the Oklahoma Tax Commission

When license is issued, you will need to obtain the proper license from the City of Newcastle.

Step 3
When applying with the City of Newcastle for a Off or On Premise Beer License the process is as follows:
Step 1

McClain County Court Clerk's Office (121 N. Second, PO Box 629 73080, Purcell- 405.527.3117)

Complete their application (approximately 15 day timeframe)

Step 2

Oklahoma Tax Commission (2501 Lincoln Blvd- 405.521.4437)

Take County License to get approval. Low Point Beer License

Step 3 Complete a Business Application to get a Sales Tax Permit with the State
Step 4 The City of Newcastle, City Clerk's Office will need a copy of the following:
  Sales Tax Permit
County Beverage License
Low Point Beer License
