Oklahoma Trash Off

TRASH-OFF Day is the statewide cleanup day when Adopt-A-Highway (AAH) groups, city and community groups, counties and state parks clean Oklahoma highways, roads and community areas. The event began as a coordinated pickup day for AAH groups, but has grown to include a wide variety of organizations.

The participants in the Newcastle Trash Off vie for a traveling trash trophy which is awarded to the team with the Most Filled Trash Bags. We also present certificates to Kevin Kurtz, 11th Grade Tulsa, 1st Place 2007the Most Disgusting and Most Interesting Items found.

This is a excellent cause and an enjoyable time for all who participate. For more information about the program by the statewide sponsor visit the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

Also as a part of the program, Oklahoma Department of Transportation conducts a annual Poster Contest. Each year thousands of Oklahoma students participate in the program. The winning entries are used as certificates, posters and such to help promote the event.
