Shop with A CopShop With A Cop is an event dedicated to creating a wonderful experience for disadvantaged children in Newcastle. Children have fun going through Wal-Mart, looking for clothing and necessaries for the beginning of the school year and for their favorite toys at Christmas time. You can even see these unselfish children pick out items for family members and a toy for their brothers or sisters. Shop With A Cop is a way for the Newcastle Police Department to give back to the community they care so much about and do their best to protect.

In 2006, thanks to the giving spirit of so many and the annual fundraising event of the concession stand at the City's Fourth of July celebration, enough funds were raised for each child who participated to get $250 in August and $100 in December for their shopping sprees.
