Celebrating International Women’s Day & Women in Our Community Today we celebrate International Women’s Day and recognize the incredible women who lead, serve, mentor, and strengthen our businesses and communities every day. The Newcastle Chamber is proud to support opportunities that bring women together to connect, grow, and make an impact. Women in Business Luncheon Join us Wednesday, March 11 as the Newcastle OK Chamber, Blanchard Chamber of Commerce, and Tuttle Area Chamber of Commerce host our Multi-Chamber Partnership Women in Business Luncheon, presented by Pioneer Telephone Coop - Newcastle. Our guest speaker will be Ryann Cummings-Kamphaus, Founder and Coach of Grace in Motion. Please register with your home Chamber. Morning Mingle at Mercy On Friday, March 13, Mercy Health Network in Newcastle will host our Newcastle Chamber Morning Mingle. Mercy’s mission is rooted in the work of Catherine McAuley, who founded the Sisters of Mercy in 1827 in Dublin, Ireland to care for the poor and sick. That legacy of compassion continues today, with the Oklahoma ministry carrying this tradition forward and the Memorial Road hospital celebrating 50 years in 2024. Racers for Excellence Sweet Scholar Auction Mark your calendar for March 24 for one of our favorite traditions—the Racers for Excellence Sweet Scholar Auction Luncheon, presented by Pioneer Telephone Coop - Main Robin Fielder and Community Bank- Linda Eyler and Ella Murguia. This special event began by honoring former Newcastle Chamber Executive Director Mona Brite and has grown to recognize other outstanding community leaders including Cindy Frizzell, Gene C. We are incredibly grateful to Norman Regional Health System for bringing such a meaningful and impactful Wellness Lunch to our Chamber members. Heart Health was the topic, but the true impact of this event was the sense of connection, care, and community that filled the room. A sincere thank you to our panelists for sharing their knowledge, time, and passion, and for offering practical insight our members can truly use: Brian Whitson, MD, FCCP – Norman Regional Pulmonary Clinic Donna Avila, MBA, BSN, RN – Administrative Director, Norman Regional Cardiology Megan Hanner, DO- Primary Care, Newcastle We also appreciate Norman Regional Health System for going above and beyond to provide on-site Blood Pressure and BMI screenings, helpful take-home tools, and valuable resources that empower our members to take proactive steps toward better health. This event was a wonderful reminder that prevention starts with education and conversation — and we are thankful to Norman Regional Health System for investing so thoughtfully in the well-being of our Chamber and our community. A special thank you to Sara Raney for organizing this valuable event and Kayla Davis for the amazing job she did as the moderator. Our delicious lunch was catered by Flying Java Coffee, Printing of materials by Pioneer Library System, Ice donated by Shelly Woolley, Door Prizes from Norman Regional Health System, Newcastle Casino, and The First National Bank & Trust Co.-Newcastle As always, thank you to Kyle M.
